This year, thanks to my friend Nathan over at PixlDesign, I will be participating in Shutdown Day. The Shutdown Day Website describes SDay as “a Global Internet Experiment whose purpose is to get people to think about how their lives have changed with the increasing use of the home computer, and whether or not any good things are being lost because of this.”
The simple idea of the experiment is for people to shutdown their computer for 24 hours and explore what great and mystical things lie beyond the monitor. Everyone who has a computer can participate as well as all they have to do is pledge their allegiance at the website, www.shutdownday.org, and turn off their computers for 24 hours on May 3.
And this isn’t a small thing, last year when the project began they had 65,000 people actually shut down their computers for 24 hours and this hopefully will be larger this year.
Well, I’ve pledged my allegiance. My blog and computer will be off all of Saturday, Australian Eastern Local Time. Have fun…not with your computer!

The Nintendo Wii is an awesome, great console that has pushed Nintendo back into the spotlight. Some enjoy playing with their Wii and others have occasional fun but anyone who buys these are a complete die-hard fanboy.

The item description on Cufflinks.com says that they are “For those times that you are away from your beloved gaming system…you can pretend to be fighting your evil nemesis, Gargamel.” They feature a Wiimote on one end and a Nunchuk on the other made out of sterling silver.
The only thing I can say is, that is freaking awesome. Partly because I am a Nintendo fanboy and mainly because any time where a fan goes to length to make something for a video game is awesome. So get suited up for your formal or prom, get Wii Cufflinks!

People in the US and Japan may be confused by the title but Wii owners in Europe and Australia know exactly what I’m rambling on about. Super Smash Bros. Brawl for PAL Wii’s has yet to be announced and has left Australian’s and European’s angered.
Super Smash Bros. was set to be the release of the year for the Wii. The new features such as Snake and Sonic joining the team, updated graphics and the plain awesomeness that the title “Super Smash Bros” brings with it makes me nearly twitch with excitement when the game was announced in 2005, which was seemingly eons ago.
It’s now three years later and I have yet to play the game while our American and Japanese counterparts are throwing boxes with Snake and absorbing powers with Kirby.

This is the first bad experience I have ever had with Nintendo and sure is hitting me deep. The idea that they haven’t even confirmed a date and the game has been out in America for over a month is disgusting. We need to show Nintendo that we will not stand for such discrimination.
And I’m going to get angry. Gamers around the world should unite and be angry. I’m going to start the anger campaign with a petition. So get signing and get angry… ’cause Uncle PAL needs YOU!
