Playstation 2, Good For…Importing Drugs?

New feature for PS2, is great for transporting drugs!

Many hours I spent on my Playstation 2 making use of its wondrous features, such as its large games library, its DVD capabilities and its CD player. But I don’t ever remember Sony ever promoting the feature of “drug transportation device”.

This recent addition to the Playstation 2’s list of various capabilities was recently discovered by three men from Canada and New Zealand after a failed attempt to import 900 grams (Approx 1.98 lbs) of ecstasy into the country; the Courier Mail reported.

It was obvious to these men that the hollow interior of an original PS2 was great for packing with drugs and they should attempt to import them into a country which carries the life sentence and/or a $825,000 fine for the importation of drugs. Australian Customs detected the package as soon as it came to its international mail facility and the men were arrested soon after by the Australian Federal Police.

You would think that if you were going to try to import drugs into the country that you wouldn’t send them to yourself, but obviously these eighteen and twenty year olds thought that their ingenius plan was going to work. Alas, it didn’t and now they have been charged and appeared before Southport Magistrates Court.

Playstation 2 filled with drugs…what will they come up with next…but trying to use such an iconic piece of hardware in way that it’s not designed for, all I can say is, I don’t think this tragedy is covered by warranty.
